One exciting new feature is the magical piano on-screen keyboard, which allows you to explore the piano in a fun and interactive way. With options like colored keys, scale locking, and special effects, you can truly immerse yourself in the world of music.
It's worth noting that Big Ear has received recognition as the official music learning app of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation. This endorsement speaks to the app's high-quality content and educational value.
In Big Ear, you'll join Solo, a passionate musician, on a journey to demystify the inner workings of music. Through building songs and exploring melody, chords, and rhythm, you'll develop a deeper understanding of how music works.
Big Ear covers a wide range of instruments including piano, guitar, synth, bass, and drums. With its easy-to-use interface powered by Native Instruments, you'll be able to create your own original compositions or play popular songs in an interactive performance mode.
The app features music puzzles that can help you learn various aspects of music theory while having fun. Additionally, there is a smart composer (sequencer) with colored notes and scales highlighting for added convenience.
The community aspect of Big Ear allows you to save and publish your own songs, receive likes from other users, and challenge them to build upon your creations. The automatic puzzles generator will also create puzzles based on your saved songs.
With Big Ear, you can explore different genres such as pop, rock, classical, universal, and electronica. Whether you're interested in mastering rhythms, bass lines, melodies or harmonies (chords), the app provides a comprehensive learning experience.
The composer tool (sequencer) within Big Ear offers an easy and creative way to compose music. Simply tap note blocks into the sequencer or drag them around the grid. You can also zoom in and out for easier editing and adjust controls like note length, tempo, and play/pause/stop. Additional settings allow you to customize song length, scale, and meter.
While the app offers limited content for all users, subscribing to Big Ear grants access to all features and resources. Subscriptions are available on an annual or monthly basis, with prices varying by country.
Purchasing a subscription through iTunes Account grants you access to premium content. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Users can manage their subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in their iTunes Account Settings. Any unused portion of a free trial period (if offered) will be forfeited upon subscription purchase.
